A couple of years ago I was teaching
photography at the Cortona Center of Photography, based in Cortona. I was walking with a student of mine
on the main square, Piazza Signorelli, in front of the Etruscan museum. We
found out that Abbas Kiarostami was filming Certified
Copy inside the museum and tried to sneak in to see what was happening.
Once there we were summoned by some of the movie staff who asked us if we
wanted to work as extras for a couple of hours. So we did it but
what I really wanted was to take a picture of the film director. At
the end of the session I waited for him at the exit of the museum and asked him if I could take a picture of
him. He accepted.
